Church of Santa Maria in Vado
Church of Santa Maria in Vado
Temple built around the Eucharistic miracle of the Wet Vault.
Built on a ford of the River Po, the church has been documented since the 10th century. In 1171 the miracle of the Wet Vault took place, by which drops of blood gushed during the consecration of the host, which wet the vault of the temple.
Rebuilt in 1495, its interior has a basilica plan, divided into three naves with two rows of columns.
The transepts of the crossing house a 16th century organ and the Sanctuary of the Most Precious Blood, where the old vault with traces of the Eucharistic miracle is preserved.
