Collegiate Church of Santa Maria
Collegiate Church of Santa Maria
Rebuilt in the mid-15th century, when Borja received the title of city and its main church that of collegiate church.
Little remains of its original Romanesque style in this majestic building that was rebuilt in the mid-15th century, at the time that Borja received the title of city and its main church was raised to a collegiate church.
The collegiate church, which has two solid bell towers, brings together various architectural styles. Mudejar predominates on the outside, while its interior is Baroque. The church, with a single nave, has a polygonal apse and a chapel between the buttresses.
The main altarpiece, the organ and the Gothic panels of the sacristy stand out. The cloister was built in the 15th century and, in the 19th century, the portico was added.
